45th Saturn Awards Nominations: ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Leads With 14 Nods, ‘Game Of Thrones’ Tops TV Category

By Ethan Anderton/July 16, 2019 8:15 am EST

The 45th Saturn Awards nominations have been announced. Normally the Saturn Awards winners are held in June, but this year, the genre-loving awards have been revamped thanks to shifting the presentation of the awards themselves to September. As part of this revitalization, the awards will also be partnering with a streaming site in order to get more exposure, and an announcement will be coming soon with information about where fans can watch the broadcast.

In order to accommodate this major change, the eligibility window for this year’s nominations stretches all the way back to March 1, 2018 and runs through July 7, 2019. That means you’ll see nominees ranging from Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One last year to this year’s third season of Stranger Things. That’s quite a huge window, and there are plenty to get through, so let’s check out the full list of 2019 Saturn Awards nominations below. Avengers: Endgame came out on top of this year’s nominations in the film category with a total of 14 total nominations. The next most nominated movie was Aladdin with nine nominations, so no other movie even came close to landing more nominations than the MCU’s crown jewel.

On the television side of things, Game of Thrones walked away with nine nominations, but The Walking Dead wasn’t too far behind with six nominations. Meanwhile, in the streaming category, The Haunting of Hill House also landed six nominations, surprisingly defeating Stranger Things, which only landed a couple nominations this year. Maybe the wide window of eligibility didn’t play in its favor, or maybe the nominating group didn’t get a chance to see all of Stranger Things before time ran out. Anyway, here’s the complete list of 2019 Saturn Awards nominees:
