Sundance 2020 Feature Titles Announced

Sundance is an exciting festival for many reasons. For one, it’s the first festival of the new year – the film fest that announces the movies we’re bound to be talking about for the months to come. In addition to that, there’s an air of mystery to the whole thing. For film festivals that come later in the year – like TIFF, for instance – information about the titles is more widely known. In fact, some films may have already screened, giving attendees a better idea of what’s in store. But with Sundance, the majority of the titles are brand new to practically everyone. This can backfire, of course – you could end up attending a film on a whim, only to be disappointed. But there’s something invigorating about being completely caught off guard by something fresh and new.

The Sundance Film Festival runs January 23–February 2, 2020, and we’ll be there. Check out the first wave of titles below.

Pure, bold works distinguished by an innovative, forward-thinking approach to storytelling populate this program. Digital technology paired with unfettered creativity promises that the films in this section will shape a “greater” next wave in American cinema.
